Enhancing Your Connection Performance
Sometimes, DaDesktop might alert you if your connection shows too much 'latency' (delay), making the experience less smooth.
If that happens, try the suggestions below to get your connection running better.
Steps to take
- Whenever you can, plug in with an Ethernet cable; otherwise, if you're using Wi‑Fi, check your speed first with a test like speedtest.net.
- Try to stay as close as possible to the wireless access point. Prefer 5 GHz Wi‑Fi over 2.4 GHz, since 2.4 GHz often delivers slower speeds and picks up interference more easily.
- Before starting the course, turn off or disconnect any VPNs and proxies.
- If you're able, temporarily disable security apps that might interfere with your network; they can sometimes add latency.
-
You might consider reaching out to your company's IT support, especially if corporate filters or content policies affect your network.
Allowing these domains through the firewall often helps:
1. https://\*.npg.io (any subdomain under .npg.io)
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Avoid large downloads or uploads during the session; for instance, pause Windows, macOS, or Linux updates until after the course wraps up.
-
Your internet speed should exceed: "10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload"
