Create From OS Template
Here's how to create a desktop from an OS template:
- Go into the course and open the Desktops menu
- Click "Create From OS Template"
Let's walk through the different options you get when using an OS template
Here's what each field means:
-
GPU Model
Pick a GPU model and type if you need one. Ticking 'Display GPU enabled servers' will only list servers that have GPUs available -
Datacentre / Server
Choose the datacentre region and server that’s nearest to you in Hong Kong -
OS to clone from
Operating System (OS) images include Windows and Linux flavours such as Ubuntu, Debian, and Almalinux -
Include custom, old, beta & rc Versions
DaDesktop keeps its templates up to date, but if you're having trouble with the latest one you can try an older release here -
CPU
Set the number of CPU cores. The default of 8 cores is generally fine for most typical Linux and Windows workloads -
Memory
Decide how much RAM (in GB) the desktop should be limited to. Bear in mind you're constrained by the server's resources – each server may have different maximums. If you need these limits raised, reach us on Support Chat -
Disk Space
Set the disk space allocation. The default is 50GB.
