SSH Access
Many users request SSH access to DaDesktop machines—it makes life easier for course participants and trainers who want to connect to their Desktops from their own laptop or desktop PC. It’s perfectly understandable: typing commands on a local terminal often feels more natural than working inside a terminal on a remote Desktop.
Although it’s technically possible, we don’t permit SSH access in this scenario. Doing so would unnecessarily open the DaDesktop course machines to significant security risks.
We’ve added a drag and drop file file transfer capability so you can easily move files from your own laptop or desktop into the DaDesktop machine. Previously, some of the requests for full SSH access were driven by the lack of a good way to transfer files. Now that this feature is available, using DaDesktop is even simpler.
It’s worth noting that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on Windows and Linux OS templates, making it much easier than before to copy and paste commands from your local machine to the DaDesktop machine—even if you’re on a Mac or using non-English character sets.
For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if required.
